ICG MARKETS

Corrosion does not respect industry boundaries. The chemistry is the same whether the asset is a water transmission main, an oil and gas gathering line, a transit corridor, or an industrial facility. What changes is the regulatory context, the operating environment, and the practical constraints each owner works within. ICG has spent more than 50 years building corrosion engineering practice across the full range of buried and submerged infrastructure that the western United States depends on.

WATER

Water and wastewater systems represent some of the longest-lived assets any utility owns. A well-protected water transmission main can serve a community for 80 to 100 years. A poorly protected one may fail in 30. ICG helps water utilities make the engineering decisions that determine which outcome they get.

OIL AND GAS

Oil and gas operators face the most prescriptive regulatory environment in the corrosion industry. PHMSA, state oil and gas commissions, and operator-specific integrity management programs all impose detailed requirements for cathodic protection, monitoring, and documentation. ICG provides the engineering and field work to meet those requirements while keeping operating costs in check.

TRANSPORTATION

Light rail transit (LRT) systems generate dynamic DC stray currents that can affect every metallic structure within hundreds of feet of the rail corridor. For transit agencies, the goal is to limit stray current at the source. For neighboring utility owners, the goal is to monitor for and mitigate the interference that does escape. ICG works on both sides of that equation.

ENERGY

Energy infrastructure includes a wide range of assets that depend on corrosion control: power plant cooling systems, switchyard grounding grids, fuel storage tanks, and the buried pipelines and tanks that support generation and distribution operations. ICG provides corrosion engineering services across the full range of energy facility assets.
